Just picked up this bike as a project. I got it for $160 and it has papers! So feeling pretty good about that. Once it is fixed up it will be my wife's ride. Right now she rides a 1979 Honda CM400T. It's just not XJ enough for my liking. So I thought we would get her a little closer with this little XS. Today we picked up another XS400 for $200 as a parts bike. It is in waaaay better shape, except that the frame is bent and it has no papers. The parts bike only has 6500 km on the engine and has been garage stored for years. I expect to do almost a complete transplant onto the frame with papers. Probably have lots of parts left over too. So any that I don't want for spares I may be parting out.

Theres an 82 xs400j sitting in the parking lot here at work. I know this because I rode it here!

This is what she looked like the day after I got her. I've got to get a pic after all the work I've done recently.

Not sure if I have an extra set yet. But if I do decide to part out the leftovers, I'll let you know. I take it that your local Yamaha dealer can't supply them
