Chacal has them but they are about $45. I cleaned mine and repainted it. Not chrome but looks fine. I used a metalic pain made for plastic.

I used aluminum gilding to recover mine - looks pretty close to chrome, and if I do it again with significantly more care I think it could fool most people...

I tried that Chrome paint for plastic. Looked.... Okay. But I wasnt happy with it. Ended up painting it black semi gloss. The paint was much easier to use and it came out pretty good. I'm thinking of filling in the letters with another color, maybe the chrome?
I have an XJ650J my part number is (4H7-23395-00-00 EMBLEM) which I found at www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/parts/home.aspx and the part was under the STEERING section.
I did a google seach and got a hit on www.boats.net $39.68 plus shipping and handleing.
    Also went to http://216.168.60.165/speedandsportinc/index.tpl
did a part seach and they have a used one for $12.50
    Good Luck, Eric

I used a gold metallic paint covered with a couple of shots of clearcoat... It doesn't look 100% but from 8 feet or more, it looks fine.

Further note : I "borrowed" some PlayDoh from my 3 year old and pressed it into the recessed area to mask the original black paint. I then rattle-canned it with the gold metallic, and let it dry. I picked the masking Playdoh out of the grooves, gave a good wipe with a rag, then applied the clearcoat.

Guys; Re: Boats.net: They LIST every Yamaha part ever made. They do NOT have any motorcycle parts stock. If price is no object, NOS can be found...but not at Boats.net.
