Hi guys! As you can see by the title I’m looking at changing the front forks on my Yamaha XJ400 (1982). Mainly because I want beefier (thick) more performent front forks. But also cause the seals have gone on them; I can change them but I find it pointless as I planned on getting newer forks in the near future.

I have looked at this website already which gives you a list of bikes that have the same bearing width/size (whatever you know what I mean ;) )

I’ve seen other XJs with FZR1000 which gives me the confirmation that it can be done, but how easy I don’t know...

I did actually find some FZR1000 forks (1987-1988) for a really good price and was wondering if it’s worth getting them or not.

Thanks a lot for the help, and of course I’m willing to take up any suggestions you guys have ;)

    Cheers!!
