    Hi Guys

Can you please give me your opinions on the following. I am planning on replacing my cam chain soon. My bike has 34,000 miles on it and I thought the chain would have lasted longer than that so perhaps the mileage is not accurate. It rattles badly starting from cold but fine when hot. I have a chain which has to be rivetted so has anyone done this procedure before? What I am concerned about is possibly overtightening the rivetting tool and the chain link will bind? Is there a depth stop on these rivetting tools to prevent overtightening? I have never done this procedure before. I need to get this right as you all know. I would prefer to fit an endless chain but I cannot afford a full engine strip down at the moment. My tensioner is at maximum travel. I have no problems changing gears so I am sure the rattling sound is not from the starter chain now.

Has no one replaced their camchain with a link? Thought someone would have.

Have you done a, final drive chain before? Same basic thing. There must be a YouTube about it? Doesn't have to be your specific machine
