Can anyone advise me on what to look for in one of these?

Looking at a 1998 NZ model this weekend, it gets started fairly regularly (they say) but hasn't had a good long run for a while.

Any hints on what faults to look for in a 2nd hand 900 Diversion and what makes a "good 'un"?

    She's done 83,000 km (51600 miles).

    Cheers ya'll!

I think (but don't know) that they are a capable big brother to the 600. I would check all the obvious - service record, wheel bearings, unusual noises or oil leaks. Check any evidence of being dropped to.

I know the 600 has a reputation that the exhaust is prone to corrode and is expensive to replace.

The 900 Series stands-up well to normal usage.

My 83- 900 needed Valve Seals and Valves Lapped at 35,000 Miles.
    A Clutch
    Brakes
    Several Rear Tires.

I chose to change the Fork Springs and add Pre-load.

The Cam Chain is replaced at 60,000 Miles (recommended).
