A friend called me today asking about XS650s and saying he wants to get one and send it to TC Bros and have it hard tailed. I would love to talk him out of this but if I cant, does anyone know if that will work on a XJ 750? He has been trying to call them but no luck so far.

This is the hardtail service they offer.

Well the XS650 is chain drive, while the XJ750 is shaft drive. So the frame/hardtail kit would need to be altered for shaft. Can be and has been done, but if they do it, I'm sure it will cost more. Your labor will always be cheaper. If you can weld and have access to a welding machine or a friend that does, then you could save some dollars.

    It could be done yes.

The problem as stated by Orange-n-Black is that the XJ is shaft driven. The driveshaft is inside the big clunky swingarm, so you cant just remove the swingarm and weld some tubing in its place. I think it would negate some of the benefits of having a hardtail, because the only weight you lose is the coilover units.
