"YICS" what is it and what does it do exactly???

    i know it stands for yamaha induction controll system i think, but what exactly does it do?

    It is a small passage that connects all the intake ports. It's supposed to create a mixing effect when the intake valve opens to either reduce emissions or improve performance (can't remember which).

    Personally, I think it's mostly a marketing gimmick.

    Mostly, it's something you need to plug up when you sync the carburetors.
