I have a 1981 Xj 650 Maxim. I was taking apart the carburetors to clean them and one of the float pin legs is broken off. Is there any way to attach it back on by glueing it. Or can it be welded? I was going to try JB weld but think it may come off from the vibration of the motor, or maybe not since there's little force on it. I can't buy a new carburetor for it because I don't know if it works or not, also there are other expensive things broken on this bike, but not on the motor. Does anyone have used carburetors from a parts bike? But not off one with a siezed motor.
JB Weld might work for you, but you'd probably be better off just buying a used carb on ebay or something. Getting the leg attached back on straight would be tricky. You can get a used carb body for a reasonable price, just keep your eyes open.
