My Maxim X seems to overheat a bit now.

I know there is a coolant leak where one of the cooling tubes enters the block. I need to replace the o-ring. It only leaks when cold. Once the engine is warmed up apparently everything expands and the leak stops.

The fan works because the temp goes to the red and then drops back fast and I heard it run once.

Could there be some kind of air lock in the cooling system due to the leak or do I need to look at the thermostat?
