Title: New Air Cleaner
Description: Air Filter

OK, I need to replace the OE air filter in my 82 XJ750J. Should I use a K&N filter or a Foam UNI-FILTER? Does anyone have any experience with the UNI-FILTER? Typically I would go with the K&N but I wanted to see if there were any experiences that would persuade me to change my mind.
Any thoughts?
Also, typcially what would you do with the OEM filter when it is dirty. Do you just clean it with compressed air or throw it away and replace it.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I like a dry paper filter as opposed to an oily foam one. I usually clean out the air filter with compressed air a couple times over it's lifespan, then when it gets time to replace it I toss it in the garbage.

Unfortunately, it is broke. It has deteriorated from sitting and needs to be replaced. What filters have everyone used and how has it held up? Also, has anyone found a good OEM style paper filter for replacement?
Thanks

I used an EMGO paper filter last time I replaced the one in my bike. I use UNI filters on my 3 wheelers and they work well but on the bike I went with a paper filter just for the convenience since it won’t be going through as much as the 3 wheelers. Why did I choose EMGO over K&N, well the K&N is $44.99 and the EMGO is $9.99.

I run EMGO's too. I usually buy from
http://www.crc2onlinecatalog.com/Index_Main_Frame.htm . Good prices and fast shipping.

Thanks for the input. I purchased the UNI just to try it out. If I don't like it then I may try the EMGO. We'll see how it goes.
