I'm new to this - so be nice....I have 2 XJ900's - one an 83 and the other an 88 model. Both are ex Police bikes in Australia. My question is what range should I expect from a tank with standard exhaust? One bike has standard exhaust and I have gotten 260KM on a tank (until it hits reserve), the other has a fairly loud 4 into 1 and it only gets around 180KM per tank. I know the 4 into 1 bike needs a bit of a tune (carb sync probably), but I didn't think it was running rough enough to lose 80KM range on a tank.....Anyway, a ballpark range figure on what anyone is getting on a standard exhaust would be appreciated.
