Title: What oil do you run?

KTA - May 11, 2005 03:13 PM (GMT)
I don't want to start a big thing here, but I was thinking that it might be my oil that's causing a little clutch slippage rather than the clutch being worn.

I put in a good quality 10w40 (can't remember the brand). I'm about to do a change, what would you recommend?

I've been running 10-30 Castrol but now that its warming up, I plan on switching to some 20-50 or similar.

I've had no problems.

I have a 1981 750 Seca (59000 kms) and I run Castrol GTX 20w50.
I change the filter every change and I flush the system with about 500 ml of kerosene each time.
I add the kerosene before warming up the bike and then drain.
My bike starts easy so unless I ride in colder temps. the heavier oil is good.
