Title: Front end swap - Stearing head sizing
Description: anyone tried or done one?

After owning an XJ750 (seca) for several months my general opinion is - it's a fun motor that gets me around but the bike itself isn't built all that well, and it certainly doesn't look good in stock trim. (please no flaming :D )

I've made it look a lot nicer by replacing the headlights, gauges, and blinkers. But I'm also considering swapping out the whole front end - forks, trees, wheel, brakes, etc., for something a little more modern and sporty. I'd like to get the bike on a smaller front wheel with stiffer suspension.

I guess what I'm not sure about is how compatible stearing heads are. Do most Jap bikes have standard sized stearing heads? Are there different diameters and heights? I'm sure there are, it's just a tough measurement to find out.

If anyone has done one of these swaps on an XJ or otherwise I'd love some advise.

I can't help out much with advice here as I have never tried it, but, if you do use a smaller wheel then your current speedo will not read properly.
