I had the carbs taken apart to clean them on my '82 xj650 maxim. When I put them back together i noticed that the top cover that covers the diaphram has one side that is set at an angle. It seems to me that this is just for looks and can face any direction. Can someone look at theirs and let me know? I think the angle is suppose to face the back of the bike. Thanks.

You are correct, the angled side goes to the back.
