Title: debaffled exhaust
Description: anyone tried a debaffled XJ exhaust

I had someone tell me that these 4 cylinders sound good with a debaffled dual exhaust. Anyone have any experience with it? I had concidered trying it as the only thing that holds in the rear baffle is a couple rivets, but didn't want to waste my time if someone was going to tell me it sounded like hell.

over the weekend I had one of my mufflers come loose going down the highway, and I have to say that I loved the sound of it on that side, If I can find a way to replicate it with the muffler still on I will be happy

Not sure if you'll like this idea, but i know of a few people that have drilled a series of holes around the muffle end to get a depper sounding machine? Start small you can always go bigger. But also remember theres no turning back, once drilled they can't be fixed very easy. :(

What effect does removing the baffles have on the jetting of your machine? Does it make the bike run lean enough that jetting changes may be necessary?

i have found that jetting wasn't really needed with just exhaust change. All your doing is getting rid of spent exhaust, now if you open up the intake side that is a different story.I currently am running 4 individual fillters (no names) with a 4-1 kerker header,(no baffles) stock my mains were 112,i now am running with 137.5's and i rasided the needle a small amount to help out the mid range.I still plan on going down a few numbers on the mains though i'm running a little rich,(black plugs)
