A leaf? Wasn't a maple was it? They can get kind of sticky. :)

Anyhoo, When was the last time you pulled out your carb and cleaned it up?

aprox two years ago,was the last time i gave them a good cleaning.Along with a jet change. Got her runnin 13.10 at 102mph in the 1/4 mile. Can't seem to take off to good. Gotta slip the clutch and take off like a granny,my 60foot times are nasty bad.

Did you sync the carb when you put it back onto the bike? Also sounds like your mixture might be a bit off. Couple of products you might want to look into:

a) CarbTuneII - http://www.carbtune.com/ - if you pull your carbs, you need to rebalance them off one another so that the vaccume is the same for all.

B) Colortune - the cheapest and easiest way to ensure your mixture is set. http://www.carbtune.com/colortune.html - you may be able to find a local supplier of that product.

I own both - the cost of buying both items is 1/3 of what a shop will charge you for a simple tune up.

it's not outta tune it's to powerful to take off in the powerband! Last time i tried taking off at 8,500 rpm i was lookin a little to much at the clouds and not enough down the track :o . And yes i synced them ,with a stick all four at once kind,i think mercury. It runs real good. I have a 4-1 kerker (no baffle) and generic pod filters.I ended up with a 155 main but to big. Currently running a 137 main stock piolets, also have a spacer under the needle to help out the mid range.

Sounds like you may need to dyno it to see where the flat spots are. Again, it sounds like the mixture isn't right all the way through the power bands. Did you change your box airfilter to K&N pods when you rejetted?
