I have an "85 XJ-700S. On the front fork there is a black plastic rectangle with YAMAHA on it. On one side of the rectangle is a bent wire for which I cannot figure out the purpose. Can anyone help?

Also, what is a good way to clean vinyl seats?

Why not order the XJ Cd and find out? Sounds like it's a custom fitting no longer on the bike. The XJ CD will have a parts diagram for you to check out.

I use Tough-stuff vinal and cloth seat cleaner. Makes it look brand new!
