ok, i have noticed that it is/can be rather hard to find parts for the stock xj carbs, so i was wondering if it would be possible to fab up an intake for dual carbs or possibly even a single carb from something like a 883 sportster?

i have seen a kit for honda CB750's that uses 2 carbs instead of four, 2 34mm mikuni's i beleive.

i would prefer the sportster carb route though....would make tuning much easier.....
