GAS TANK REPAIR AND RESTORATION

I have been looking around to see where and how much it would cost to have my Gas tank restored. And I have found Moyer Fuel Tank Renu. They seen to have one of the best tank restoration process I've seen. I just want to know if this is a good idea. Take a look at this link you have to see this.

Repairing petrol tanks is a very hit or miss operation in my experiance.

If you want to try yourself there is a firm called POR 15 (but they are not cheep  !) some people have good coments about their products, I have never used them myself.

But ... by the time you work out the cost of all the materials required in some cases it may be cheaper to obtain another tank.

I have lined my tank with a three part liner called cream and it is awsom no more rusty crap in the carbs. The only thing is that it is a real pain to do.

You can also order a new tank from Bike Bandit for $237.26
If you need other parts then check out Bikebandits Web site, lots of part to pick from. For the tank go to the OEM tab on the site.

Hey Beer Runner I couldn’t find a the new gas tank from bike bandit for a 750 Maxim. Just says discontinued. I don’t know about doing my own tank liner afraid that I might do more hard then good. My brother had a 1969 Datsun roadster that had a rusty tank that he used a liner on that ended up not working right. To make a long story short he ended up having to redo the whole induction system.

There is a place in Langely BC that does this kind of work. I will get back to you tomorrow on that.
