I recently picked up an 85 XJ750XN for $1300. The bike had been stored outside for some time and has very little history from the previous owner. When I bought it I changed the fluids. There were 3 small metal bits in the final drive drain bolt magnet, engine oil was dark but clear. The bike has a minor vibration, not related to engine speed. I pulled back the rubber shaft cover and inspected the U-joint - one of the 4 needle bearing cap seals was gone, the base of the cap seems to be deteriorating and breaking up. Looks like its time to replace the U-joint and perhaps the final gear drive. I plan to start with the U-joint and see if that stops or reduces the vibration. Does anyone have one in good shape, or where can I buy a new one for less than $200? Any help would be appreciated.

Are they the same part (part number) will the XJ1100 u-joint fit the mid gear shaft and the driveshaft of the xj700/750nx ?
