hey everyone, new to the board here. I have a 82 xj750 maxim and the battery lite stays on in the console. I've chased down all the wires and can't seem to find anything out of the ordinary. i check the alt and getting plenty like 13- 13 1/2. and the battery stays charged. I'm confused any help is appreciated.

on my xj11 that wire went to a sensor that went into an extra hole on top of the battery. some batts do not have the extra hole, and sometimes you lose the sensor ,so the light on dash stays lit showing batt prob. I'm also a member of the xs-xj site.in thier tech section i did a fix to fool the dash into thinking the sensor was plugged in . It requires a 2 ohm resistor and a few small pieases of wire.if you think you want to try it post up and i'll right it up the directions. Hey if i can do it anyone can

new batt. doesn't have such a thing. so i'll give the trick a shot. thx 4 the help. i do have a white w/ redstripe wire down by the batt. w/ a male end on it. that doesn't seem to go anywhere.(could be the wire that plugged into batt.??)

10/4, Stick that thing in one of your electrolite caps, and see if the light goes off. The "sensor" on the end just measures a small amount of current, telling the light to go off. if that current isn't there, it thinks that there is no charge or that the electrolite is low.
If you don't have the sensor on the end, just solder in a 2k ohm resistor between the wire and a power source.

Snip cable or remove blump. Problem solved! :D
