I just bought a front brake master cyl rebuild kit from Z1 Enterprises for my 82 XJ650J. The one they sent me was a K&L KL32-1480 and the diameter of the plunger, etc is too large. Does anyone know what the correct K&L # would be for this bike? Their website lists it as the correct part, but it's not. Far as I know, it is the correct stock master cyl on the bike.

I think it is OEM Reference # 4K0-W0041-50-00

Or better yet buy the mater cylinder for the XS1100 new at partsnmore for $76. for better stoping power. It's a Direct Bolt on to the XJ.

Will the 1100 work even though it's for a dual disk, and will be going on a single disk brake system?

I think it will only work with dual disk. Try droping winterhawk a line he seems to know all the odds and ends.
