Got to get my compressor running so I can media blast it. Then I have to weld the rear loop on as soon as it gets here. Then paint.

Here is a little update, cleaned and polished the "new" rim. 20150928_162750.jpg
And here is a video of me doing one side of it. My video skills is lacking to say the least. And I got my "new" seat in today. Not bad for $45 shipped. Waiting for the rear frame so I can weld and paint the frame. Then its on to the taper bearing installation. 20150928_162816.jpg
    That is it for now.

put the axle in a vise and a 6 inch buffing wheel in your drill. set it up so the wheel spins and have at the edge of the wheel. that's the fastest easiest way i found to do the outside rims. the spokes and paint look good.
shine up the bead area with scotchbrite and smooth any "up" lumps with a file, that will stop any slow leaks.
    nice seat

Well I got the gauges in today. Looks like they are in good working order, but something was off and I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Finally it donged on me on what it is. Lets see if you can spot it.

I actually have spare mph gauge with out needles. I have been thinking on how to remove the oem screen print off of them and have some custom vinyl overlays made for it. So here is my motivation to do so. If it does not work out on the spare set I will just leave it KPH, just to make it that much more unique.

I wonder if someone is making overlay decals for our instruments yet? You would think

with all the computer imageing software it could be done.

If not and if my experiment works I will start doing so. Or start a service where you send the gauges in and I will do it for a fee.

Since I have this at my shop.

It has been one long but productive day. This is going to be pic heavy, so if you still have dial up, grab a cup of coffee and hang on for the ride.

This what I have to work with on the cut section of the frame.
    20151007_100413.jpg 20151007_100423.jpg

Using the bottom part of the frame as a cut line.

Then wrap some paper around the cut to get a accurate profile of the cut.
    20151007_122853.jpg
    20151007_123021.jpg

Then transfer the template to the donor frame.
    20151007_124137.jpg

And paint a contrasting color and take off the template. That in turn gave me an almost accurate cut line on the donor frame. 20151007_124316.jpg

Cut it a little long and then grind to fit. 20151007_131942.jpg

Then it was all a blur, grind, fit, bolt every thing on, line every thing up, take every thing off. Wash rinse repeat over and over and over till you get the end results. Message_1444254014552.jpg Message_1444254657386.jpg Message_1444254683766.jpg
