Thanks alFrumpus I have been improving it as funds allow and I am going to do some work on the engine over the winter. A friend of mine resprayed the front fairing and made a great job of it after it was damaged. I am very pleased with it.

Ouch! That's a good one! Will there be any permanent damage?

I did something similar to my hand when I was working in a kitchen. It was years before I got the feeling back in my thumb and two fingers.

You had that professionally taken care of , right? I hope you didn't do it yourself with some zap straps and RTV.

Yes done buy student dr. In the ER. Not the neatest of stitch work.
And it will heal just fine in about 3-4 more weeks.

Matti I went for 3 years without a bike for various reasons was commuting from Houston to Indianapolis flying back and forth allowed no time to ride nor work on a bike. I bought the seca and have enjoyed it ever since , I hope you will one day get back on and get another bike.

I'm halfway through fixing my oops. It's a good thing that I didn't take her on the trip. Oil was also leaking into #4 from the cam feeds (strange as heck since I didn't notice any external signs of a head gasket failure at the cylinder, but there are clear signs of a leak there when looking at the head gasket). I probably would have oil fouled that plug twice a day, and ended up with low, or no, compression on #4 before the trip was over.

Sorted loose ends out for the past two days after a monoshock modification to my frame. There's a list as long as my arm but I'm whittling it down slowly. The bike had to be pretty much disassembled down to the bare bones to weld stuff up correctly. I have it at the 95% point of being put back together. I'm happy with the outcome but I haven't tested it out on the road yet. Still waiting on new 520 pitch chain to match the offset front sprocket needed to clear the rear tire. 20180902_191051.jpg

Larry, I been following along and you've done a ton of work. Gotta say I love the stance.

Here's the latest shot of prepping I've done on the 700cc engine for my FXZ:
    012.JPG

Still have to tear down the bike it's going in.

Came from the parts bike I bought (shown below) so I can get it on the road while I build the 911cc engine.

I recently did the same, passed except for the paper vin tag was rubbed off causing a major headache. That’s Missouri at its finest. After two months I’m still waiting for my title...

Troop C off Koch road in St. Louis argued back and forth, one guy said use the short stamped vin but was overruled. Out came the #5062 form, another trip back to the trooper station to have it applied, then back to Jefferson City for processing. UGH!

Just completely took apart the handlebar switches. Cleaned and greased everything inside. New paint and decals. Pretty tedious job, straight forward and worth saving the cash though.

Still dealing with sputtering engine... but changed the front wheel bearings anyway... didn't really fix the wobble when letting go of the handlebars (Just to check true, not a regular thing)
Time for a new front tire and a balance?

Bought the factory hard luggage side saddles awhile back, they were in the candy red , I bought the tank ,side covers ,tail piece and fender....but the bags were pretty scuffed up and I don't want to change it all out right now. So sanded down and due fact bags can get rough treatment. I chose to paint them with stone gaurd paint has a rough texture is very tough stuff , and I chose to paint them black I like how they turned out .

Temperature is starting to drop. My kickstand switch gets a bit sluggish in the cool weather and can cause the engine to shut off if I put her in gear too soon after putting the stand up.

I wonder if I'll get around to cleaning the switch this winter?

I may put my windscreen back on to help keep the rain off me too.

The 700 is otherwise in good order. I'm looking forward to rebuilding the brakes and clutch on my 1100 this fall/winter.

What did I do to my Yamaha today? I made a bunch of promises.

Must be some brilliant biking roads in the United States Jetfixer . I went a run on my bike in Scotland last year and went to Loch Lomond and was at Loch Ness too but I didn't see the monster.

Had my rear tire changed a week or two ago. What I never realized is that once you have worn a round tire flat from just riding back and forth to work (no hard corners) that it is quite difficult to just lean the bike over. When I got the new tire on the realization of how much I was having to work the bike to get her to lay over was astonishing.
Now it is like cutting warm, butter just a little effort and over she goes.
Learned- replace tire when it starts to get the flat worn area!
Besides that have been racking up the miles- Day off rides been averaging 150-200 miles ;)

Tail of the dragon 11 miles with 318 turns from Tennesee into North Carolina have no seen it but have had friends ride it . Southern Indiana the Hoosier scenic highway I rode it from Lawerenceburg ( Segrams head quarters) to Louisville Kentucky a fabulous ride with great scenery, another local is Brown county with lots of twisty back roads in the fall it awesome when leaves turn . Michigan has some great areas to when I went to Saint Joseph the lake and beach and light house all were really nice , just wish I had more time would have liked to spend more time.I'm sure Scottland has some great roads to ride as I'm sure England does as well. This is what motorcyle riding is all about , hop on and loose yourself many a time I've rode went down one road ,took another and gotten totally lost, good times. :D

It’s pretty big and took a little wrangling to get it to fit in the fairing headlight bucket. It’s an amazingly bright light for a very decent price.
