    Good evening,

It's here. I got the motorcycle today, for what I believe is a fair price, and the journey begins. 60772288182__327AFDBF-1B47-4742-86F2-2C789DD76AA1.JPG

It's all there, which is a good thing, but it's in a very bad shape. The brakes are seized, the tank has rust, the shocks are in bad shape, the front shocks have oil all over them and there are loose electric wires. This is all from a brief scan and I am sure I will find a lot more when I start digging in.

The engine looks okay on the outside but I didn't try to see if it turns because I want to do it with some oil or Marvel Mystery Oil in the cylinders. Lets hope for the best...

I can see it will be a long journey. I live in the city and I don't have a garage to work in so on nice days I work on it outside by the sidewalk...not the ideal work space but we will prevail... ;-)

I will probably need a lot of advise and guidance from whoever can assist me since I have the capabilities but not the experience.

As a first advise I will appreciate if you can let me know where to start? Oil, liquids and try to revive the engine or start with the other stuff like shocks, wheels/tires, brakes.

Thank you for your time and support.

Stay safe, healthy and enjoy the rest of the weekend!

    Avi

You do know that the black on top isn’t the tank, right?

looks better than some I pick up!! The biggest thing I see is that the front fender is missing.

    Hi,

    I do know now ;-)

First thing I noticed as well is that the front fender is missing and the guy said he bought it like this. I hope that I will be able to find one for a decent price.

I decided that I should start with the engine and fluids so I will get some engine oil, break oil and spark plugs. I will flush all the liquids out put fresh oil replace the spark plugs and see if I can get the engine to turn. Should I do the coolant as well?

I will need a battery as well since there is non in the motorcycle.

As I said I see a long road for this journey...

    Thanks for the prompt responses.

As always stay safe, healthy and have a good night!

I would definitely agree, and you should start your own thread on this one.
