The white bike looks great, bit hot in summer though from the look of it.

Doing some research about a 750 WA police special, came across this thread as well as a book that I am sure you will be interested in.

Yamaha XJ650, XJ750 for police, supplementary service manual

It's at the WA state library, there's one copy there.

Another update, have purchased said 83 (stamped 86) 37H. Collecting tonight, will start a build thread either tonight or tomorrow, depends on when I can start ripping bits off.

    Already needs.
    Airbox
    Speedo cable
    rear brake shoes
    brake lines replaced
wiring gremlins found (batt and rear tail light warning lights on all the time).

Anyway, will stop hijacking this thread and start my own soonishly.

Wouldn't that look cleaner with a "Seca" tail fairing and light??
That shouldn't cost too much - sharp looking paint !!

    Hi Nigel,
I actually had the exact same idea, back on the day, and bought a seca ducktail and seat and after much fiddling about realised that the modifications to the rear end of the frame, welding and cutting wise, were more than I wanted to do.
Ended up giving the ducktail to darkfibre on xjbikes and stuck with the single seat.
My other half says she would never get on the back anyway... So that's my story.
    Thought I'd let you know.

Oh BTW: cullys in Perth have the xj750p parts listing on their website.
    https://cullysyamaha.com.au/parts/
    Select 1985, xj750 police
    And have a look.
I have bought a lot of original parts, seals/bearings etc direct.
    Handy info.

I didn't. Left it stock with the single seat.
Did make racks for a top box though.
My dream of having the seca ducktail was thwarted.
