    I'm considering buying a 1985 XJ700 Maxim-X parts bike.

Would anybody be interested in anything? A carb rack, for example?

A look at the carb rack. Looks to be in excellent condition to me. A little dirty right now. The bike has 20k miles.

The bike runs on starter fluid. Seems like it would be a crime to part out a good XJ700XN motor. Anybody within driving distance of Minneapolis want to make an offer?

Intake runners are in good shape. Exhaust is in good shape. Have the rad & fan.

Hogfiddles is getting the carbs. I suspect that the carbs may have been the reason this ended up being a parts bike. Dave says somebody has messed with them. Probably screwed them up. Once he is done with them I'm sure they will be good as new and could be reunited with the motor.

Most parts still available. Would sure like to find a home for the motor.

I believe I could be swayed into buying a nice paint set. Send a PM if you’d like

Sorry. Must have gotten distracted by something shiny. I went out and snapped some quick photos of the airbox itself, airbox-side boots, and intake boots. I can't find any cracks in the intake boots and they feel rubbery to me.

And I seen a picture of intake boots. That go between engine and carbs.

Thats ok. Im more worried about piston rings. They are truly nowhere to be found.
