I do my own carbs mostle because I like fiddly work :) and I don't trust a shop to do a better job then me.. Unless of course they have a dip......

Silicone grease apparently works well and a hard wood hammer handle or piece of hockey stick to pry with... Helps if the front wheel is against...
Maybe before we run out of good weather a get together of some sort is in order..like a timies meet up.. I am curious who else is in the area .....

Electrical... I don't have any ideas ... I haven't looked in my head lamp... I doubt there is something in that location related to ignition.......
Take a small wire brush to them clean em up.. Check the electrode... Some wire brush shed so make sure there are no wires on the plugs.. .. Also...
How clean are the plugs ? What do they look like.. Black sooty ? Etc
