    The throttle clicks shut but I'm having problems with the idle. Why does it shoot up to 8/9000 RPMs when I first start it?

    Sorry. I've got a 81 XJ650 Maxim. When I start it, I just press the start button and it starts up and then automatically shoots to 8/9000 RPMS...
