    It seems like its jaming up, cant give it gas otherwise it wants to bind up, every other gear works great tho

    1982 yamaha xj 1100, First gear jumps alot when i try to use it, are these bikes known for such problems? and where should i start trouble...

    Yep, I found the problem, It was a broken wire in the headlight case shorting out, She runs like a champ now, thanks for all the help

    So I just cleaned my carbs, checked the valves, they are in spec, synced and tuned, The only way it will start is if I boost it, Battery wont stay...
