I found out about this site from my buddy ron who had an 82' xj650 maxim a year before me. He has since gotten a Vstar 1100 and his XJ has gone sadly to the sideline and collects dust.

I saw a cool 82 XJ650 Turbo on Ebay and started searching the net for others like it and ended up finding you guys. I'm now going to be buying an 83 XJ900RK this coming weekend and will become one of the club ! I look forward to chatting with you guys.

    Hi,
My first post here. I Googled "Somebody please help me fix my Seca Turbo which had been lying idle for 7 years" and here I am.

Seriously, I love the fact that there's so much information here about these XJs. I had an XJ650 Maxim for 5 years (sold it in 2002)and was a member of the XJ mailing list. Rock solid reliable and goes like a rocket. Really FUN bike. But finding a laid up Seca Turbo has led me back to the fold...XJ4ever, expect some orders soon, pal.

I was looking on google for tips on hardtailing an XJ and it led me to one of your threads, i've since crashed my bike so i guess its a perfect opportunity to get on with a tear down and hardtail.

Found my 550 sitting in a corn field. Found this in my endless search for help.
LOVE it here. 4 years of working on this thing. Hope to be on the road this week.

Hello: I got here by doing a search on goggle for 81 Yamaha XJ750 Seca forums. I had been looking for an older bike to work on. (I'm enrolled in a motorcycle repair program at a local city college). My first bike as an adult was a 750 Maxim with a huge fairing. I liked that bike and was looking for one of those. My friend also told me about the Secas. I found a nice one, bought it and joined this forum. I have joined forums for other bikes and they have proved to me very useful.

I just picked up a pretty decent '82 650 Seca for only $100. The guy wanted to give it to me but his wife wouldn't let him. It needs a little work to get it going but I look at that as fun. I was doing a search on Google to learn more about the bike and came across this site. So here I am!

I found this site looking for parts on google for my 1985 XJ700 that I plan on buying this weekend. I also have a 1985 XJ700 that I gave to my father back in KS (still running) that I saved from the grave and rebuilt from the ground up back in high school (over 10 years ago!) and it's still running! (A true testament to the quality of these bikes...even when subject to a high schooler tinkering with everything on the bike).
