Love the red accents on the valve covers. Might have to do that when i finally get around to finding a project bike

 

I second the admiration of the red valve covers.
I haven't been looking at bikes like these very long
but they immediately jumped out at me in a good way.
Boy I guess this is the thread of the Michiganders.
Not sure I have talked to any of you guys yet, do any

I think filling in the highlights gives it a "hot rod" look, and it makes the bike look "finished." I used red because of the red stripes on the bike; you can also use black:




Or gloss black highlights on a flat (low gloss) black cover:




As soon as I can find a can of Duplicolor's dark maroon engine enamel, I want to do one with maroon highlights on a flat black cover with brushed ribs instead of highly polished, for the '83 (to match the darker of the two stripe colors.)

ooooohhhhhhhh may have to take the valve cover off and do the silver on mine...would look sweet! Nice pimpin' Fitz!

You could blend red and black in a cup then brush it on.

I blended silver and black to make a grey/silver to hide rusty bolts.
A very close match to weathered hardware.

BTW My vote goes in for the metal with the black filled in...

 

Fitz, how do you get away with using the kitchen sink? My wife would pop her lid if I came close to the kitchen with a greasy motorcycle part.

we got some pretty windmills and nice big hayfields, i'm waiting for a nice day to wax it up and snap some pics

(The Castle used as a set in the film Highlander)

 

Here is a couple of mine.. I have a TON of pictures of my bike. I am a snapaholic. I had to re-resize them they are more than 256k.. lol

I wish I could show them in their full 18 megapixel glory!

 

Yeah we got windmills, hayfields, and PUMPKINS even...



But dude, he's got a CASTLE. A real-life, bad a** castle. I think we've been owned.
