Hello to everyone. I am new to the club of xj owners. I recently bought a 1981 Maxim I am bringing back to life. I have already reaped the rewards of some of the posts and look forward to learning more.

Another Idiot Out Walking Around, eh? ^_^

Welcome, Harlan, and enjoy that max! You can put the bike year and model in your .sig (like Dave above) and that will help people when they troublehoot. Plus, get proud of that damn bike and put some pics in your gallery!

Thanks guys. I will put up some pics, but right now she is just sitting with the tank and seat off, soon to be the carbs too. She has stuck floats that I need to tackle.

Hey, guys. I got the float issues sorted out this afternoon and I also got the charging system working again. There was a broken wire from one of the brushes. I now have headlights and clean oil and the bike idles nice and smooth.
The turn signals still don't work, though. I still need to replace the original fuse panel but I am thinking that it is the flasher relay>?? Any suggestions??
