What would that be for? Like attaching to your Collector box to attach a straight pipe or something?

Well...they're cheap glasspack mufflers. You stick them on the end of the header pipe your using. I have 2 into 1 on each side some say: 4 into 2 . I don't have a collector box.

Those are 2" on each end, so your going to have to use a reducer inside them to attach them to the header pipes or collector box. OR you and add a 1-3/4" to 2" reducer first to attach them to.
    Anything is possible!

i was liking the tractor muffler idea, they can be had rather cheap and would probably be quieter and have smaller ins/outs
on the other hand i saw inserts for glass packs to take some of the bark out of them

I still think I'm going to try de-chroming route first. The mufflers I have still have good metal just peeling chrome and some "surface rust" as they say on Ebay. I already have the muratic so all I need is the baking soda to neutralize with. I will report on my Mr Wizard project when done.

A spiral baffle? Looks like an auger with part of the flights cut out. Interesting. Looks like another project for out in the shop. I have some gutted mufflers here somewhere. Now to get an auger to experiment with. A trip to the local grain elevator should keep me busy for awhile. Thanks for posting that Polock!

check out my pictures, I have a 4 into 1 header with a 3"magnaflow muffler "or Cherry boom" muffler, I cut it in half and re welded the inside back inside of the casing, my bike is a 650 bore out, cams, stage 3 jets, and all kinds of goodies and you can hear me for miles upon miles away, and it has the deepest evil tone, I promise you will not be disappointed, I've had this set up for about 2 years now, and I've been told that at cruzin speed say 65, I can be heard up to 5 miles away, and when I'm on it 150+, I can be heard over at the next town about 13+ miles away, and everyone says its an evil sound, when I first build the muffler I built them for a figure 8 car with a 383 and it sound so good, so I put one on the bike and like I said you will not be disappointed!!!!!!!

    ***LOUD SAVES LIFES***

Those are the same ones I have on mine. I really like the sound of them too. The quality can't be beat and they slipped right on with no problem. I suspect they are similar to the stock muffler sound, maybe a little bit deeper tone (mine had 4-into-1 system on when I got it)

Yeah, I wish the owner would get off of his azz and fix the seat so I don't have to ride that ugly thing to work everyday (during the "warm" season)...

I'm hoping to get it fixed this year, lol. It is definately an eye sore.

The Harley mufflers are very well built, they'll probably outlive the bike IMHO. They are also quite heavy. I junked the rotted out stockers and welded these in their place. I even reattached the mounting provisions and kick-stand bumpers so everything works like factory. I really like the sound too. These mufflers came off a 1200 CC bike so the sound is probably a bit louder than stock, but I've yet to hear a stock XJ650 in a while. I too really like the way that they sound; aggressive, yet not obnoxious.

Now that we are off topic...

Too bad I don't know what color it is... I purchased the tins, forks, and ignition off of a guy on craigslist and this is what he dropped off 8O

I'll definately keep the orange piping in mind though, although I'll probably be doing my own seat work. :?
