Most of the time I had to ride the bus but sometimes I drove my Dads Vett, A 1976 Chevette 4 door. He called it the best first car for a teen, 4X4. 4 cylinder with 4 doors.

Then this car in the same condition as the Firebird. That 430 flew! Beat early to mid 80's vettes all the time with zero road feel! I'm sure it ran 14.5-14.7 quarter miles.

Paid $200 for one of these at 15 years old. Wish I still had it!

This winter I noticed that many of the high schoolers in Tomahawk drive their snowmobiles to school when the snow is on the ground.

I have found that snow removal up here in northern Wisconsin is a lot different then what it was in Milwaukee.
Often times they may spread a little sand in the middle of the road, and only plow main arteries, other than that - it's called winter learn how to drive in snow!! :D

I grew up in Chicago, and my middle name was 'black-ice'. I still remember the first time I drove a front wheel drive car... WOW :)

I had two cars in High School, first a black 1957 Chevy BelAir 2 door I bought from my step dad, and then I sold that and bought a 1959 Triumph TR-3... *that* was a fun car!

1988 Chevy Sprint Hatchback. Three cylinders. Half the length of an Olds 88 (we measured). I did a front flip in that car!

Drove 1973 Ford Torino in high school. Plenty of room to place two flower pots on the front bumper, it was so big. Drove a 79 Ford Fiesta in college. That was a fun a little car. First purchase was a used 1982 Toyota Supra. Nice car at the time until I overheated and cracked the head.

Had a 75 Malibu with a 350 and 2 barrel carb, 0-60mph in 4.7 secs. even with all the spare parts and toolboxes in the trunk, when it was hit broadside at the rear by a 1980 mustang doing 70mph. Then it was wasted money. I the started driving a 1988 sprint I got only a couple years old, and 1980 chrysler newport for taking the girls out, lol.

    My first truck was a 81 Ford F-250 4x4 Custom, 302 4speed and 4 bald tires.

Ran that for a year then upgraded to a 78 Ford F-150 4x4 xlt Ranger extended cab. Had a 400ci with a C6 auto and the two little jump seats in the back. It was painted crazy 70's colors, orange and tan with a brown interior.

Then I got a 89 Ford Bronco Xlt 4x4, 351 C6. Took it wheeling and found a really deep stream crossing, hydrolocked the motor and bent 3 connecting rods. Took me a whole year to save up enough cash to rebuild the motor, then I traded it in on my current ride. 98 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Quad Cab with a Cummings 12 valve motor.

Also had a 78 Cadillac Coup de Ville for a couple of years. Had a 425ci motor, and just floated down the road.

In 1986 mine was a 1973 Toyota Coralla in factory bright orange with a white vinyl top, that I bought for $300. Test drove it and the front end vibrated bad at over about 20 mph. Borrowed a wrench from the owner and tighted a front end bolt on either side and it never did it again.
Might have been ugly, but was one tough car. Drove it in swamps and even jumped it a few times. Was the perfect first car, except the color.

1967 Dodge Charger....paid $550 in 1976! Really wish I had held on to that car....only had a 318 2v....although it looked fast, it was actually quite pathetic. I was styling with my Gabriel Hi-Jacker air shocks lifting the rear end nearly a foot!

Looks like the Australian interpretation of a "Yankee Tank" - Its actually kind of cool car, similar to the '57 Chevy my parents brought me home from the hospital in.
