Are you saying the head is stripped, or is part of the screw broken off in there?

Do you have a set of ez outs? That might be easiest, and they are brass, so there is probably a smaller chance that the bit will break off in there.

Well screw is out..never had an issue with it...just some of the threads r gone in the carb body itself...so if I wanna turn it in I can only turn in so far...can't really adjust the fuel amount currently...

Hmm, we'll have to see what others have to say, I don't have any experience with Helicoil or tapping. I don't know that there are different sizes of the adjustment screw available.

Are you certain the screw isn't bottoming out? Is the tip bent?

Start a conversation with Chacal. He carries a thread tap for the idle mixture screw holes. You might be lucky enough to get the threads back into shape by running a tap through (a reformer would be better, but I have not found one in that size). If that dosen't work then you'll need a new carb body. There isn't enough room to use an insert, and having the hole welded shut and re-machined will be eeeeeeeeeexpenssssssve.

These bikes were originally equipped with anti tamper plugs on the mixture screws so there will be a small space at the top without threads. If you can lightly seat the screw and get 4-5 complete turns before the screw comes loose you should be in good shape.

Make absolute certain that there is not an o-ring or washer still stuck down in the hole. This will cause the spring to bottom out long before your in range for proper mixture adjustment.

From what I gather. You are saying that the threads in the carb body are stripped out.
If that is the case. It is easier and cheaper just to replace the carb body.
