Methyl Ethyl Ketone (take due care and wear the appropriate PPE in a well ventilated environment). Reline with Caswell's or any other epoxy liner.

Drain tank , remove tank from bike , remove petcock, remove sending unit...fabricate a cover for sending unit, petcock...as long as you can make it water tight...pour 2 pints of MEK in slosh it around let it soak, for 20 min , slosh it around again let set 20 min ...repeat look in filler neck see if old liner is coming off ...with a pick or long screw driver see if you can peel it.....if it is starting to come off drain mek at petcock location...let it air out for several days...the use your liner of choice

don't replace it with anything unless it leaks.

Well here's the deal... I had it soldered....it currently isn't leaking...wanna have tank painted after riding season.. so I figured line tank before I paint it....just to be safe and not have to do it with a painted tank....

Unless they made major changes in what Redcote is made of, it's prone to failure.

Sealing my tank over the winter as I found a pinhole leak while it was stored (puddle of gas on my garage floor was a pretty big indication).

It had been lined by idiot PO but it has obviously failed. Is putting some washers on a piece of wire with the MEK to knock things loose a good idea?

If you can still find a radiator shop and you can repaint your tank, they can usually "hot tank" your tank and can braze tank if it is a pin hole and you can line inside of tank with a good sealer Caswell ,Kreem, or one I like Redcoat ...or find a used tank and repaint it .
