last month i wanted to add some oil but the seat latch was stuck, no problem so far. i just let the air out of the tires and lifted the seat, turned the fuses 180 and checked the oil again, just right. but now i can't seem to find where i put that tire air. so can i put any tire air in it or should i wait for the yamaha air to come back?
oh, and is it normal for this thing to pop out of reverse as soon as the side stand goes in? and yes the battery is black.
    thanks

Am I as confused as everybody else here?

Letting air out of the tires will definitely lower the seat height, so I follow your logic here. Indeed the fuses should fit in either direction so there should be no harm in rotating them 180 degrees.

Unfortunately, as soon as you set your original (OEM I’m guessing?) tire air free, it mingled with your local “every day” air and there’s no way to get your original air back in the tires. I recommend an air upgrade…
I prefer Perri-Air. Mine came with a bonus can of shaving cream.

    It is Princess Vespa Approved.

It depends on the weather you'll be riding in...you dont want summer air in there for the winter and vice versa. You may have to travel south for some summer air. Yes the reverse issue you mention is normal for all XJ's of any vintage. Even brand new ones.

I think most, if not all of this is covered in the original owners manual. ;)

    BTW....that was hilarious!

I can not get my bike into reverse ... I used synthetic grease on the chain guide might that be my issue?

It might be... but let's remember that reverse is down and to the left, next to 2nd gear. Your reverse lock-out trigger might be faulty.

It's not just the snow belt... Though I've been able to sneak out here and there...

I'll also say that heated gloves have changed the game. Was too cheap to buy them for myself... Then they arrived as a gift!

Willy: What the hell you need ball bearings for?
Fletch: Awww, come on guys, it's so simple maybe you need a refresher course. [leans arm on hot engine part, then jumps away] Heyya! It's all ball bearings nowadays. Now you prepare that Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads, and I'm gonna need 'bout ten quarts of anti-freeze, preferably Prestone. No, no make that Quaker State.

A more appropriate title "I think I smoked it" and from the chain of posts, obviously smoked more than just one.

Only if you use the proper "relative bearing grease"
