    Hello I've just bought myself a xj900 and guess what it runs but only on full choke I'm guessing the carbs have been played with it was a restoration project from a old guy but it was cheap ..... any help ?

    runs on choke is pointing to clogged pilot jet circuit.

    that is the pilot jets and mixture screws this is the circuit that runs the bike at idle up to 2 to 3k rpm when the main jets kick in

    Well i took everything apart and cleaned everything and now i have fuel coming out of the breather pipes

    Did you set the float heights? I think this can happen if the float height is set too high. Setting float height too low causes a lean condition.

    Didn't touch the floats all I did was remove all the covers took all the jets out and cleaned them in including the diaphragms
