A little more detail of what you need please. I have an atari from a Maxim 750 but the outer housing is cracked. It likely could be repaired. Advise if you are interested and/or want photos. It shows 30k something miles.

I'm trying to replace the atari with regular gauges. Pretty new to this so unfortunately not sure I know the terminology to use to better convey what I'm looking for.

Sound like you want 83 maxim gauges and even the 650 ones will work for you

the 73 maxim uses the same bracket to mount the cluster as the 650.
there is also a thread on how to eliminate the atari cluster
not sure if the mount will fit onto a 82

I’d have to defer to the more knowledgeable here if that would work or not. How much would you sell it for?

It will not work, unless that cluster has an electric tachometer.

Sorry for my ignorance but how can I know if it’s an electric tach?

The ‘82-‘83 xj650 maxim cluster, and the ‘83 xj750 maxim clusters ARE electrical tachs..... that’s why they can be used if the harness is modified.

How can someone tell if the tachs are electric———- just look at the back of the cluster (or the tach if it’s out of the cluster). The electric ones have wires, the mechanical ones have a cable-driven gear-drive that looks just like the back of a speedometer.

It is an electrical tach. The speedo has a cable the tach has a harness.
