YICS Tool for sale or rent

    Anyone got a YICS tool in there garage they want to sell or lend to me?..
    I'll pay for shipping.

    Len rent 'em...
    but that doesn't work for me because daily + shipping takes too long. :)

    I just used a piece of rubber hose and lubed it up well and shoved it though that port and that sealed it up well enough to set my carbs, there is some opinions on this site that it doesn't make much of a difference when setting the carbs with it or without the tool and I tend to agree.

    I have made mine out of 3/8" all-thread and measured out the ports with a piece of tie wire. Then took high temp electrical tape and wrapped it till it was snug and could still slide in with easy. Made the rod the exact size so you can put the 2 bolts on the end while you sync the carbs. Worked well for me.

    You can take cotton rags ripped in stripes soaked in engine oil and pack them in the yics passage. Then install the bolt. You now have a block off tool. To remove, remove both bolts and push them out.

    I have never used a YICS tool synching my carbs. Owned the bike for 39 years.

    No need for it at all, unless you have to pass an emissions inspection. No U.S. states require motorcycles to be tested for emissions, and IIRC neither does Canada.

    My YICS tool makes me happy.
    1/4" threaded rod.
    Wing nut
    Copper pipe
    Washers
    Fuel hose (which craps out every now and then)
    Nyloc on one end
    Silicone spray

    I used silicone tubing. I think easier to compress and more resistant to high heat.
