Tips needed on how to remove speedo cable guide from front fender, 82 XJ650 Seca

    need to remove the guide to refinish the fender, hoping to reuse it but it seems pretty firmly mounted, can rotate it, but no sense at all that its going to pull out. Can these be removed and reused, or do you have to destroy them to get them off the fender?

    You can just work the bottom out with a flat blade screwdriver. A little silicone or other lubricant might help. Definitely helps going back in.

    warm it up with a hairdryer first, not too warm though, that should make it pliable enough to "pinch" the rubber in on the inside to get it out
