probably your petcock keeps flowing fuel.

    rebuild it or replace it.

Or (one of) the floats is stuck open...

The petcock is designed to pull fuel only when there is vacuum present unless you have it set to Prime. If it is leaking it could be entering the cylinders via the vacuum line or if you have a float which does not close down all the way, it could be flowing into the cylinders via the throat of the carbs and down past the rings into the oil. If you get the right circumstances, the fuel leaking into the cylinder could cause a "hyrostatic lock" which can damage the engine.

Check with Chacal for the parts....... New petcock or a rebuild kit, etc. There is a CD available for the bikes, but mine hasn't arrived yet so I don't know how detailed it goes into the carbs. My experience with these carbs is that they must be really, really clean! There is tons of info on this site regarding carbs. Do a search on the forum. Someone else might be able to tell you where you can obtain more info, but the Haynes Shop Manual has a lot of good info on the carbs.
