I am currently redoing a 1982 YAMAHA XJ 650 MAXIM AND Iam in dire need of carburators do you know of anyone selling a set for this bike or do you prehaps have a set to sell condition not an issue as i would rebuild them thank you for your time

You could use a 550 seca TCI, curve will be probably be a bit different, but i think that’s about all

Hi Dave! We spoke last fall on the phone a few times. I'm the guy in Rome (10 miles from you) that got a nice shape 80' XJ in trade for a lawnmower. I'm happy to say my build is almost complete. I was going to send you a text with some pics, as you told me to let you know when it was done and you would go through the carbs and see if you had anything to update anything that might be needed. Live 5 mins from the city, have a xj 750 maxim 82, carb float got stuck, stripped a jet trying to rebuild it, kinda don't have the patience to finish, anyone near by can help me service my baby?

Hey man, got a problem with my 550 carbs I believe. The bike has not run in a while and when I try to start it, it sounds like its being starved of fuel, also just got the starter rebuilt and a new starter relay. when I turn the fuel on or on prime, fuel starts coming out of the first carb towards to air box side. Have you seen this before, and does the carb need to be rebuilt?

You screwed then up. The only ones that were removable where in the 1980 '80 650 bowls, I don't recall the 750 bowl having a removable jet…

Looking for two float bowls hopefully with clear starter jets for 82 Seca750. I pulled them out with and ez out cause in the service manual they looked to be replaceable. Rich

hogfiddles, I am new here but would love some help. My 1980 yamaha sx 850 with hitachi carbs needs help. Do you have or know of another member who has a good diagram for Hitachi H34C carbs. My clymer book is not much help when it comes to rebuilsing these. Would be great to have a diagram that is more specific for my rebuild on these. Thanks for any help you can provide

MavRick--I doubt it.....the 550 has four cylinders, the virago only has two, just to begin with

Like many before, I'm resurrecting an '82 550 seca, and am in need of a handful of shims. From my readings, it seems you are one of a few that might still run a shim pool, so I am curious if I can purchase these from you. Five in total: 260(x1), 265(x2), 275(x2)

Goodmorning sir, new to the site as of about 15 minutes ago; and new to the xj550 I've got as it was handed down to me last night by my uncle! It's my understanding you're the best out there for carb cleanings?

Which badges.....tank? Airbox trim covers? Side covers? Etc...

Adding spearchucker's 750rl to the database now brings the registry up to 16.

Dave, I would like to get information from you regarding the cleaning and any rebuilding of the carbs on my 82 xj750. Len says you are the best for this kind of work.
