I sold the original seat on another thread. As far as the seat/tank mount, I used the original tank mount (built up and welded to the frame) so I didnt have to modify the tank at all. This way if anything happens to the take, I can take it right off or swap it out real easy. For the seat mount I built a bracket directly behind the tank mount. Everything can come apart very easily. I will try to remember to get some pics of what I did for that on here in the near future. The 1100 frames are completely different than any of the 550/650/750 frames though. May have to get creative, but you should be able to get it all mounted tightly and still be able to remove it all.

Oh yeah...progress....Still building the wiring harness. Fighting with a no spark condition currently. Getting there, slow but sure.

danamoose, this is definitely one of my favorite chop/bob projects on here (1100 chops/bobbers look awesome because of the huge tank!), i'm thinking about doing the exact same type of frame mod. How does it ride? Did you ever get a kickstarter on it? What did you use to make those welds? I've read MIG makes a neater weld but flux core might produce a better quality/stronger weld (better penetration?). I haven't picked up a welder yet and just wondering what is best for this type of work. And finally, did you weld the swing arm pivot rigid or leave it?

    Cheers,

    Trev

WOW! nice project. We definitely need updates and I'm REALLY curious about the kick start as well.
