1981 maxim 650 first timer

Thank you, I am actually wanting to get this somewhat done because I have never worked on a bike before this is actually my first bike and the bike I learned to ride on I bought it last summer I have learned allot on this site I love it that's what gave me the confidence to just say screw it lets go straight to the bone but this is my learner project bike I want to get rid of it and get a new one and go completely custom on it

 

They both are actually pretty comfortable I had them new drag bars on and before I extended the neck 2 1/2" and gave it a little rake the drag bars just didn't look right anymore so I decided to put the stock handle bars on to see how it'd look and it went more with the bike after I raked the front but the handle bars flared outward to much it looked like seagull wings so I decided to cut the handle bars and bring em in just a notch to get the feeling of how I want the handle bars

 

Man I'm pretty biased. I love the look of drag bars, but considering that you've raked it some they may be pretty uncomfortable. That being said I used to have a foam pad rather than a seat on my old race bike..."weight savings."

 

I love the look of drag bars as well just the rake changed the game plan a bit
