1982 Xj650j Maxim wire harness fit 1981?

    Will a 1982 Xj650j Maxim wire harness fit 1981 Xj650 as a replacement?

    I do know 1982 is YICS and has a different TCI.

    it will fit. the 82 will have wiring for a sidestand switch and relay . you will not have to worry about that as you do not have them on the 81 . harness will also have a black /white wire used in the sidestand circuit.

    the diode block will have to be looked at to make sure it is connectig to correct wires
