a motorcycle just came up on our local Craig'slist which the owner describes as 1982 YAMAHA GS 650E, offering it for restoration or parts at $250. (I suspect he may be confusing the description and it may actually be an XS.)

Price seems cheap but before I bother the owner I wanted to check with you gurus to see if any 82 Yamaha 650 parts might be useful for my 81 Maxim 650.

    thanks,
    gene

If it's on Craigslist it could be anything, an XS650 twin or even a Suzuki.

    GS650E is a Suzuki.

Not many parts are likely to fit your XJ.

thank you for the help and info. I sent the seller an email to confirm it's a Yamaha and not a Suzuki.
