    Great vintage barn find!

1982 Yamaha XJ650 Seca (the sporty shaft-drive 650 that was only offered in the US for a single year).

This is a genuinely uncommon classic. Yamaha brought the European-style Seca 650 to America for 1982 only after pressure from the motorcycle press — then dropped it the next year in favor of the Turbo version. Survivors in solid original condition are hard to find and have a real cult following among riders who appreciate early-’80s Japanese sport-tourers.

    Highlights

    • 69,678 miles

    • Bought from the original owner with the intention of riding it regularly — we just never found the time

    • Ran great when parked last year

    • Immaculately maintained throughout its life

    • Aftermarket shocks currently installed (original shocks included)

    • Comes with lots of extra parts

    • Lots of bags, a helmet, the owner’s manual, and rain gear

Solid, reliable air-cooled 653 cc DOHC inline-four with shaft drive — comfortable, capable, and still fun to ride. A true one-year US-market rarity that’s ready for someone who will actually put miles on it again.

Serious inquiries only. Happy to answer questions or arrange a viewing.

Nice looking luggage rack, they are even more unusual than our Seca 650's. Good luck with your sale.
