1982 Yamaha Seca 750 w/ Touring pack

My wife has kindly suggested that I have too many bikes. I rebuilt this neglected 35,000 mile '82 XJ750 over last winter and put some fun miles on it, but I'd rather see it in a new home than store it for the winter.

New tires, stainless steel brake lines, brake pads and shoes. New filters, plugs, and plug wires. New upper brake, speedometer, clutch and choke cables. New Daytona bars, adjustable bar risers, new grips, new indicators, new horns and new mirrors. Brushed the finish on the final drive and painted the wheels, touched up the paint on the frame.

I mounted a full set of fairings and saddlebags that I got off craigslist. The bottoms of the "feet" of the faring are cracked, and the bags are scratched. It comes with the top case, but I liked the looks better without it. I sanded and repainted the tank, but it should likely be redone by someone with better paint skills. The NOS seat I purchased has good foam, but the old cover has split and will need to be replaced.

Mechanically, it has never let me down. After a little choke on cold mornings it starts every time, runs smoothly and pulls well. It will need a new head gasket as it weeps oil after long rides. The tachometer stopped working after I installed the fairing. I rode without it as I have always shifted by sound and have too much mechanical sympathy to rev it out.

If I kept it I would pull the bodywork to repaint and while it was off replace the head gasket and find the loose tach connection. I just don't have space for that right now.
